At Annabelle, we embrace learning through play as a fundamental component of our teaching. It is our firm belief that our robust hybrid curriculum serves as a firm educational, emotional, physical, cultural, and spiritual foundation for our students. The school aims to continue to improve the delivery of this curriculum by up-skilling our staff and teachers and having continuous evaluations to ensure that we deliver the highest quality education at all times.
At the primary level, we have Cambridge as the core Curriculum. The Cambridge curriculum is international in philosophy and approach but can be tailored to local contexts. The African continent, and more specifically our country, Lesotho, is a country with unique circumstances, and it is therefore imperative to have an education that will be tailored towards addressing issues about this country and the African continent at large. The Cambridge international curriculum sets a global standard for education and is recognized by universities and employers worldwide. It is taught in more than 10,000 schools and more than 160 countries worldwide. It is with this knowledge of the broadness of the application of this curriculum, that we find the Cambridge curriculum to be a good tool to equip our students to achieve their ambitions in life.
Our aftercare program allows our students to study, read, play and rest. We create a setting where children may engage in both indoor and outdoor games, as well as constructive and educational play.
With the fast-paced and fast-changing world we live in today, one can go as far as to say that extracurricular activities have become just as important as the ‘main’ curriculum. More and more careers are becoming obsolete, and more educational institutions are finding themselves falling behind the fast-developing world that requires people who have skill sets that no educational institutions have degrees for, or even teach. Result-oriented education forms the crux of a child’s school life and is a crucial tool to equip with knowledge, but equally important are extracurricular activities that inculcate real-world skills in children and allow their personalities to blossom. It is with this in mind that we appreciate the importance of extracurricular activity and hold it in high esteem and continue to offer and expand upon our extracurricular offerings. At the pre-school level, we currently offer; French, music, and physical activity. At the primary level, we offer; French, music, art, and sports.
